Chris starts back to school in a few weeks and so we were wanting to squeeze in a quick family trip. Nothing big, just something within a four hour drive (or less, give or take). We were thinking something outdoors like camping, hiking, or an awesome site, a zoo, or whatever, just something to get away for a couple of days but without spending much money. It's sad that after a year we don't really know what is outside of the city! So we need some suggestions from our fellow Okeys! Thanks!

It might be too far, but Broken Bow/Beaver's Bend AR is really pretty and a lot of outdoor fun! It is more like a 4-5 hour drive, but it was worth it. We went over spring break and it was a ton of fun! They have cabins you can rent (prices range from cheap to expensive) but there are also cheap motels and campsites (the cheapest)! Take advantage...roadtrips are awesome!
Branson...I'm not sure the drive...but I'd look into it. There is also Dallas, but there isn't much to do there that doesn't cost money, and its more metro than outdoorsy....although, lake texoma? Hmm....Go to Tulsa and see the sites there? St. Louis isn't even that far of a drive from here either.
Robbers Cave State Park is really pretty. It's close to Wilburton, OK. (about 3 hours from here) We spent a couple hours there 3 years ago. The hiking is surprisingly fun for Oklahoma, and they have paddleboats on a lake nearby and even mini golf, if I remember correctly. Here's a website for it.
